The Experience of Social Workers with Equine – Assisted Activities in Social Activation Services in a Selected Organization

Abstract:

Diplomová práce se zabývá zkušeností sociálních pracovníků s aktivitami s využitím koní v sociální práci s uživateli sociálně aktivizačních služeb ve vybrané organizaci. Práce je členěna do tří částí. V teoretické části jsou vymezeny základní pojmy obsažené v hlavní výzkumné otázce, která zní: „Jaká je zkušenost sociálních pracovníků s aktivitami s využitím koní v sociální práci s uživateli sociálně aktivizačních služeb?“ Metodologická část představuje výzkumnou strategii a postup, jakým byl výzkum proveden. Jedná se o kvalitativní výzkumnou strategii s využitím techniky polostrukturovaného rozhovoru. Součástí metodologické části je také popis postupu zpracování dat. Data byla zpracována pomocí otevřeného kódování a techniky vyložených karet. V interpretační části jsou shrnuty výsledky výzkumného šetření a je zodpovězena hlavní výzkumná otázka. Z interpretační části vyplynulo, že předmětem intervencí sociálních pracovníků při aktivitách s využitím koní byla podpora sociálního fungování uživatelů sociálně aktivizačních služeb. Jednotlivé zkušenosti sociálních pracovníků měly společné to, že kůň při aktivitách s využitím koní působí na uživatele sociálně aktivizačních služeb jako motivační prvek k aktivní spolupráci.

Abstract:

The diploma thesis deals with the experience of social workers with equine – assisted activities in social work with users of social activation services in a selected organization. The thesis is divided into three parts. The theoretical part defines the basic concepts contained in the main research question, which is: "What is the experience of social workers with equine – assisted activities in social work with users of social activation services?" The methodological part presents the research strategy and the way the research was carried out. It is a qualitative research strategy using the semi-structured interview technique. Part of the methodological part is also a description of the data processing procedure. The data was processed using open coding and unloaded card techniques. In the interpretative part, there are summarized the results of the research and the main research question is answered. From the interpretative part, it became clear that the subject of social workers´ interventions using equine – assisted activities was to support the social functioning of users of social activation services. The experiences of social workers shared the fact that the horse in equine – assisted activities effects the users of social activation services as a motivational element for active cooperation.
