Abstract:

Bakalářská práce zkoumá použití barev ve filmovém průmyslu a možnosti barevných úprav v postprodukci. Mapuje vývoj manipulace s barvami ve filmu, rozebírá teorii barev, jejich význam a možnosti kombinování. Dále mapuje vizuální styly používané ve známých filmech a porovnává četnost jejich výskytu. Na základě získaných vědomostí poté ukazuje několik postupů color gradingu v programu DaVinci Resolve, na kterých prezentuje sílu a potenciál softwarů pro úpravu barev ve videu.

Abstract:

This thesis focuses on use of colors in film industry and the possibilities of color grading. It examines manipulation with colors in film history, and examines color theory, which in- cludes their use, meanings and ways of combining them. Next, it maps common visuals styles used in film industry and compares how frequently they are used. With the help of all gathered knowledge, it presents few ways how to color grade in DaVinci Resolve software to achieve desired look. The outcome of the color grading process shows the power of color grading software and its use in video-production.
