Physical activity monitoring focused on selected population group

Abstract:

Tématem mé bakalářské práce je monitoring pohybové aktivity vybrané populační skupiny. Cílem bylo vyhodnotit fyzickou aktivitu dnešních dětí ve věku od sedmi do dvanácti let a znázornit, jaká fyzická aktivita je pro jejich zdraví do budoucna vhodná podle doporučení. Teoretická část obsahuje charakteristiku metody vyhodnocení, která se nazývá akcelerometrie. V této části jsem popsal také konkrétní akcelerometr, kterým jsem měřil děti a systém, který následně vyhodnotil nasbíraná data. Další kapitolu jsem zaměřil na fyzickou aktivitu, kterou jsem následně specifikoval na děti a ukázal jsem, jaký byl stav nadváhy u nás v ČR i ve světě roku 2005. Empirická část má především za cíl porovnání fyzické aktivity u měřených dětí podle různých hledisek a specifikací. Výsledky z empirické části ukazují, že od roku 2005 do roku 2015 se nedostatečná fyzická aktivita u dětí v ČR téměř zdvojnásobila. Druhým hlavním výsledkem je informace, že chlapci jsou mnohem aktivnější než dívky. Především v závěrečném vyhodnocení, jestli splňují doporučenou aktivitu, nebo ne dopadli chlapci oproti dívkám opravdu výborně. Pouze jeden chlapec z devíti neměl doporučenou hodnotu fyzické aktivity. U dívek to bohužel nesplnilo sedm testovaných. Jako největší přínos viděl vytvoření jednoho celku informací týkajících se akcelerometrie a dětí. Druhý neméně důležitý přínos ocení rodiče testovaných dětí, kteří dostanou zpětnou vazbu a uvidí v číslech pohyb svého dítěte.

Abstract:

The topic of my bachelor thesis is monitoring of motion activity of selected population group. The aim was to evaluate physical activity of today children in the age from seven to twelve years and to depict suitable physical activity for their health into future according recommendation. The theoretical part contains the characteristics of evaluation method which is called actigraphy. In this part I described also particular actigraph, by which I measured the children and the system that subsequently evaluated collected data. Next chapter I aimed at physical activity which I subsequently specified in children and I showed the condition of overweight in our country and even in the world in the year 2005. The empiric part prevailingly focuses on the comparison of physical activity at measured children according to various aspects and specifications. The results from empiric part show that since the year 2005 to year 2015 insufficient physical activity at children in the Czech Republic has been doubled almost twice. The second main result is the information that boys are much more active than girls. Primarily in the final evaluation - whether they fulfill recommended activity or not – boys turned out compared to girls really excellently. Only one boy out of nine did not have the recommended value of physical activity. Sadly at girls seven of them did not fulfilled it. I perceive as the biggest contribution forming one information unit concerning actigraphy and children. The next equally significant benefit will be appreciated by parents of tested children who will get the feedback and see the motion of their child in numbers.
