Marketing Utilization of Bohuslav Martinu’s Pieces in Art Education

Abstract:

V magisterské práci Marketingové využití skladeb Bohuslava Martinů v uměleckém školství jsou v kontextu současného vývoje uměleckého školství představeny možnosti práce s odkazem Bohuslava Martinů. Zpracování tématu vychází z návaznosti na přehled institucí a souborů, které se skladatelovu odkazu věnují a z rozboru stávajícího systému uměleckého školství v České republice. Na základě posouzení vnímání skladatele obyvateli rodné Poličky v dějinném vývoji i v současnosti reflektuje nejúčinnější využití skladeb Bohuslava Martinů z pohledu marketingových potřeb poličské základní umělecké školy. Autorka se výrazněji zaměřuje na přehlídku Mládí a Bohuslav Martinů organizovanou touto školou, jako příkladu ideálního propojení využití skladatelova odkazu s celostátním dopadem a posílením prestiže pořádající organizace. Cílem práce bylo představit komplex možností využití specifických prvků, které nabízí dílo Bohuslava Martinů v návaznosti na prezentační a marketingové potřeby uměleckých škol.

Abstract:

The diploma thesis Marketing utilization of Bohuslav Martinu’s pieces in art education presents possible ways of working with the heritage of Bohuslav Martinu in the context of current development of art education. Dealing with the subject stems from an overview of institutions and ensembles dedicated to the composer’s works as well as an analysis of the present system of art education in the Czech Republic. Based on an assessment of Martinu’s perception by inhabitants of his home-town Policka in the course of time and today, the thesis reflects the most efficient use of Martinu’s musical pieces from a standpoint of marketing needs of The Elementary Art School in Policka. The author focuses primarily on the festival Youth and Bohuslav Martinu organized by this art school as an example of an ideal connection between using the composer’s heritage with a nationwide impact and strengthening the reputation of the hosting organization. The goal of the diploma thesis is to present a whole range of potential usage of the specific elements of Martinu’s work with a linkup to marketing and self-presentation needs of art schools.
