The consequences of population aging on pension scheme

Abstract:

Demografické stárnutí je nevyhnutelný proces vývoje populace. Dochází k němu postupně v různých zemích světa podle kulturního, technického a ekonomického vývoje populace. Cílem této práce je nejprve zjistit, v jaké fázi demografického stárnutí se nachází populace České republiky a jaký bude její další vývoj. Poté bude analyzován vliv stárnutí na financování důchodového systému. Podle projekce obyvatelstva se odhadne, zda bude současně nastavený důchodový systém nadále udržitelný. V opačném případě budou navržena možná řešení problematické situace a budou představeny návrhy na penzijní reformu.

Abstract:

Demographic ageing is an inevitable process of population development. It occurs gradually in different countries according to cultural, technological and economic development of the population. The first aim of this paper is to determine at what phase of the demographic ageing the Czech population is. It also explores the future development of the population. Then it will be analyzed the influence of ageing to the pension system. The future sustainability of the pension system will be estimate according to the population projection. Otherwise, this paper will propose possible solutions and will present proposals for pension reform.
