Abstract:

Bakalářská práce Kulturní Rozmanitost a Vzdělávání ve Velké Británii: Případová studie se zabývá důležitou rolí ve vzdělávacím procesu, což nezbytně tvoří kulturní prostředí žáka a jeho identita. Při studiu kultury a její rozmanitosti je zde zaměřeno na kolektivistickou a individualistickou dimenzi.V závěru práce je popsán výzkum, který byl proveden na střední škole v Nottinghamu v Anglii. Výzkumu se zúčastnilo 47 studentů z různých rodin a zemí původu. Cílem výzkumu bylo jaké jsou hodnoty žáků a zda tyto hodnoty a jejich vzájemné působení mezi sebou je ovlivněno kulturním prostředím odkud žáci pochází.

Abstract:

This thesis Cultural Diversity and Education in Great Britain: A Case Study deals with the importance of students cultural background and their identity. The purpose of the thesis is to raise awareness of teachers in this matter. The thesis briefly describes main aspects of the educational system in GB with focus on England. The cultural part of the thesis has put emphasis on collectivism-individualism dimension. The other part of the thesis analyzes the significance of identity of students including the problems with ethnicities and diaspora. The last part of the thesis is a research conducted at a secondary school in Nottingham. The aim of the thesis is to assess values of students and find relevance between their cultural background and interaction with others in class.
