Domestic Violence during the COVID-19 Pandemic

Abstract:

Cílem diplomové práce bylo na základě analýzy průběhu a řešení domácího násilí na ženách v době pandemie COVID-19 na území České republiky navrhnout opatření eliminující negativní zjištění. K naplnění tohoto cíle byla přiblížena teoretická východiska, týkající se popisu forem domácího násilí, role oběti a pachatele, právní úpravy problematiky domácího násilí. Pojednáno bylo o možnostech pomoci obětem domácího násilí, především ženám. Součástí teoretických východisek je přehled stavu domácího násilí v době pandemie COVID-19, včetně dostupnosti služeb ženám ohrožených domácím násilím. Na teoretická východiska bylo navázáno popisem vlastního výzkumu, jehož cílem bylo zjistit, jak opatření spojená s pandemií COVID-19 ovlivnila průběh a řešení domácího násilí na ženách. Výzkumný soubor tvořilo 103 žen, které čelily domácímu násilí v době pandemie COVID-19. Metodou sběru dat byl dotazník vlastní konstrukce. Formulovány byly tři hypotézy. Z výsledku vyplynulo, že se zvýšila intenzita domácího násilí v době pandemie COVID-19, největší nárůst byl zaznamenán u ekonomického násilí. Dostupnost služeb pomoci byla hodnocena negativně. Prokázán byl vliv častějšího kontaktu s partnerem a vzdělávání dětí formou distanční výuky na intenzitu domácího násilí.

Abstract:

The aim of the thesis was to propose arrangements to eliminate negative findings based on the analysis of the course and management of domestic violence against women during the COVID-19 pandemic in the Czech Republic. In order to achieve this goal, the theoretical background concerning the description of forms of domestic violence, the role of the victim and the perpetrator, and the legal regulation of domestic violence were presented. The possibilities of helping victims of domestic violence, especially women, were discussed. The theoretical background includes an overview of the state of domestic violence during the COVID-19 pandemic, including the availability of services for women at risk of domestic violence. The theoretical underpinnings were followed by a description of own research, which aimed to determine how arrangements associated with the COVID-19 pandemic affected the course and management of domestic violence against women. The research sample consisted of 103 women who faced domestic violence during the COVID-19 pandemic. The method of data collection was a self-constructed questionnaire. Three hypotheses were formulated. The result showed that there was an increase in the intensity of domestic violence during the COVID-19 pandemic, with the largest increase in economic violence. The availability of support services was rated negatively. The effect of more frequent contact with partners and distance education for children on the intensity of domestic violence was demonstrated.
