Bakalářská práce se zaměřuje na vyobrazení sociální třídy a genderu v práci Elizabeth Gaskellové, a to konkrétně v rámci jejích třech nejznámějších románů: Cranford, Sever a jih a Manželky a dcery. Prvně se zabývá rozdíly mezi sociálními třídami, následně zobra-zením ideálů feminity a maskulinity a jejich rozdílů v rámci odlišných tříd. Abstract:
This Bachelor thesis focuses on the portrayal of class and gender in the fiction of Eliza-beth Gaskell, namely in her three most famous books: Cranford, North and South, and Wives and Daughters. Concentrating first on the differences between classes and then on the portrayal of the feminine and masculine ideal as well as the differences of these ide-als across classes, it argues that the books faithfully …more
