Stercoral Bacteriotherapy as a Specialized Nursing Procedure in the Treatment of Diseases of the Gastrointestinal Tract

Abstract:

Tématem bakalářské práce je specializovaný ošetřovatelský postup sterkorální bakterioterapie v léčbě onemocnění gastrointestinálního traktu. Jedná se o relativně mladou léčebnou metodu, která je založena na podání extraktu stolice pacientovi s postižením gastrointestinálního traktu. Teoretická část je zaměřena na shromáždění informací o FTM a její zavádění do praxe. Popsány jsou současné i budoucí metody zpracování stolice a možná expedice až k pacientovi. V praktické části je detailně popsán praktický postup FTM formou komentovaných fotografií u metod cestou orální i aborální. Práce se zaměřuje na veškeré úkony všeobecné sestry a její asistenci při FTM. Cílem práce je edukovat o možném, správném postupu všeobecné sestry u FTM a vytvořit edukační leták pro pacienty.

Abstract:

This bachelor thesis discusses the specialized nursing procedure of stercoral bacteriotherapy in the treatment of diseases of the gastrointestinal tract. This is a relatively new treatment method, which is based on administering stool extract to a patient with gastrointestinal disorders. The theoretical part of the thesis focuses on gathering information about FTM (fecal microbiota transplantation) and how to put this treatment method practice. Current and potential methods of stool processing and possible dispatch to the patient are explained. The practical part describes in detail the practical procedure of administering FTM, in the form of annotated photographs of oral and aboral methods. The thesis addresses all the tasks carried out by a general nurse in delivering FTM. The aims of the thesis are to provide knowledge about correct FTM procedures that are and can be performed by a general nurse, and to create an educational leaflet for patients.
