An analysis of intercommunication from an MBTI perspective

Abstract:

Formy a nástroje vnitrofiremní komunikace jsou odrazem veškerých procesů probíhajících v organizaci. S rozvojem informační technologie organizace preferují neosobní vnitrofiremní komunikaci zprostředkovanou různými médii. Jedinci se však dle teorie MBTI vyznačují poměrně stálým, kategoriálním způsobem získávání a zpracování informací, který může být v rozporu s charakterem vnitrofiremní komunikace. V důsledku toho mohou vznikat bariéry vnitrofiremní komunikace, jež pramení z osobnostních odlišností na straně jedince. Práce předkládá analýzu vnitrofiremní komunikace z perspektivy MBTI v prostředí klientského centra bankovní instituce na vybraném oddělení. Výsledky šetření poukazují na dominanci komunikace v neosobní formě. Na základě této skutečnosti práce koncipuje ideální profil telefonního bankéře podle teorie MBTI, který zohledňuje požadavky pracovního místa v kontextu vnitrofiremní komunikace. Konfrontací rozložení osobnostních typů telefonních bankéřů vůči ideálnímu osobnostnímu profilu jsou identifikovány i jiné typy. Z těchto typů analýza odvozuje bariéry vnitrofiremní komunikace. Ze zjištěných výsledků práce předkládá konkrétní opatření a návrhy, jimiž lze odstranit bariéry vnitrofiremní komunikace, které pramení z osobnostních odlišností telefonních bankéřů z perspektivy MBTI.

Abstract:

Forms and tools of internal communication reverbatate in every process of an organisation. As information technology develops, organisations prefer impersonal internal communication which is mediated by various technical platforms. According to MBTI theory, individuals are distinguished by the relatively stable and categorical way in which they obtain and treat information. However this individual stability is in contradiction with the organization´s developing internal communication. For that reason barriers to the flow of internal communication can sometimes appear at the individual recipient. This dissertation analyses, from an MBTI perspective, internal communication in the customer centre of a chosen department of a banking institution. The result of study reveals particularly impersonal internal communications. On that account the dissertation draws up an ideal profile of a telephone banker according to MBTI theory which corresponds with the real life work position in the context of internal communication. Comparison between measurements of personality types at the department and the idealised telephone banker´s profile identify other personality types. Barriers to internal communication are deduced based of these types. The result of the research presents particular steps and drafts that can remove barriers at the individual recipient from the MBTI perspective.
