Contact between Children in Foster Care and Their Biological Parents from the Perspective of Staff of Foster Care Organisations

Abstract:

Bakalářská práce se zabývá kontaktem mezi dětmi v pěstounské péči a jejich biologickými rodiči. Cílem práce je analyzovat a zhodnotit, jak nahlíží klíčoví pracovníci na problematiku kontaktu mezi dětmi, které jsou v pěstounské péči, a jejich biologickými rodiči. Podle novely zákona o sociálně-právní ochraně dětí by měli pěstouni s dětmi vést rozhovor o biologických rodičích. Podle § 967 zákona č. 89/2012 Sb., občanského zákoníku, mají pěstouni za úkol udržovat, rozvíjet a prohlubovat sounáležitost dítěte s jeho rodiči, dalšími příbuznými a blízkými osobami. Zachování vazeb dítěte s blízkými osobami je zajišťováno mimo jiné právem rodiče se s dítětem osobně a pravidelně stýkat a povinností pěstouna tento styk umožnit. Pro práci byl zvolen kvalitativní výzkum, který byl realizován se šesti klíčovými pracovnicemi z doprovázejících organizací pro pěstounské rodiny.

Abstract:

This Bachelor Thesis deals with the contact between children in foster care and their biological parents. The aim of the Thesis is to analyse and evaluate how key workers view the issue of contact between children in foster care and their biological parents. According to the amendment of the Law on Social and Legal Protection of Children, foster carers should have a conversation with children concerning biological parents. According to Article 967 of Act No. 89/2012 Coll., the Civil Code, foster parents have the task to maintain, develop and deepen a child's belonging with his/her parents, other relatives and close persons. The maintenance of a child's ties with close persons is ensured, among others, by the right of a parent to have personal and regular contact with their child and the obligation of a foster parent to facilitate such contact. Qualitative research was chosen for this thesis, which was carried out with six key workers from accompanying organisations for foster families.
