Prostitution in Prague

Abstract:

Bakalářská práce „Pražská prostituce“, nahlíží na prostituci jako na sociálně patologický jev ve společnosti. Práce poukazuje na složitost definování prostituce porovnáním přístupů jednotlivých autorů. Následně je rozčleněna typologie prostituce s návazností na příčiny a teorie vzniku prostitučního chování. Podrobněji je rozebráno prostředí Prahy z hlediska zvolené problematiky. Teoretickou část uzavírá kapitola o existujících právních úpravách prostituce s následnou konkretizací na aboliční přístup aplikovaný v České republice. Empirická část práce se věnuje výzkumu motivů žen vedoucích k prostitučnímu chování. Sběr dat je proveden pomocí kvalitativního šetření se zvolenou metodou polostrukturovaných rozhovorů. Data byla zpracována na základě výzkumného designu Zakotvené teorie. Provedeným výzkumem byly zjištěny příčiny a motivy, které ženy přiměly k provozování prostituce. Důraz je kladen zejména na odůvodnění samotných prostitutek, jakým způsobem si vysvětlují jejich vstup do sexbyznysu. Výsledky výzkumu jsou uvedeny v závěru bakalářské práce.

Abstract:

The 'Prague Prostitution' bachelor thesis views prostitution as a sociopathological phenomenon. The thesis points to the difficulty of defining prostitution by comparing the approaches of various authors. Subsequently prostitution is divided into types, followed by the causes of and theories on the origins of prostitutional behaviour. Prague environment is analysed in detail considering the issue chosen. The theoretical part is concluded by a chapter focused on existing legislations concerning prostitution and the following concentration on the Abolitionist approach applied in the Czech Republic. The empirical part of the thesis focuses on research in the field of women's motives leading to prostitutional behaviour. The gathering of data was carried out qualitatively with the selected method of half-structured interviews. The data was processed by the research design of the Grounded theory. In the research executed the causes and motives which made the women pursue prostitution were determined. Emphasis is put on the explanation of prostitutes themselves and the way in which they describe their joining the sexbusiness. Research outcomes are stated in the closing of the bachelor thesis.
