Evaluation of Investment in Photovoltaic Power Plants at Logistic Centers

Abstract:

Tato diplomová práce se zaměřuje na vývoj modelu v MS Excel pro hodnocení investic do fotovoltaických elektráren na logistických centrech. Vytvořený model umožňuje uživatelům rychle zhodnotit potenciál projektu a simulovat ekonomické a energetické toky z fotovoltaického systému, čímž představuje efektivní nástroj pro podporu rozhodování o investici podobného typu. Díky schopnosti modelu předvídat návratnost investice a analyzovat dopad na snížení emisí skleníkových plynů poskytuje tento model komplexní přehled o potenciálních výhodách fotovoltaických projektů. V praktické části práce byl model aplikován na reálném případu logistického centra na dálnici D5 mezi Prahou a Plzní. S využitím nástroje řešitel byly optimalizovány parametry velikosti instalovaného výkonu a kapacity akumulace pro maximalizaci čisté současné hodnoty (NPV). Tento přístup umožnil kvantifikovat nejen ekonomické, ale i environmentální přínosy navrhované fotovoltaické elektrárny, a tak komplexně zhodnotit investici do fotovoltaické elektrárny na logistickém centru.

Abstract:

This thesis focuses on developing an MS Excel model for evaluating investments in photovoltaic power plants at logistic centers. The model enables users to quickly assess the project's potential and simulate economic and energy flows from the photovoltaic system, thereby providing an effective decision-support tool for similar types of investments. Thanks to the model's ability to predict investment returns and analyze the impact on reducing greenhouse gas emissions, it offers a comprehensive overview of the potential benefits of photovoltaic projects. In the practical part of the thesis, the model was applied to a real case of a logistic center located on the D5 highway between Prague and Pilsen. Using the solver tool, the parameters of installed capacity and storage capacity were optimized to maximize the net present value (NPV). This approach allowed for the quantification of not only the economic but also the environmental benefits of the proposed photovoltaic power plant, thus comprehensively evaluating the investment in the photovoltaic plant at the logistic center.
