Abuse of Seniors

Abstract:

Bakalářská práce na téma ?Týrání seniorů? je zaměřena na problémy špatného zacházení s osobami staršího věku. V teoretické části je charakteristika stáří a změn, které v tomto období nastávají. Poté popisujeme i stárnutí společnosti jako celosvětový problém. V práci je zdůrazněna důležitost individuální autonomie jako schopnost samostatnosti seniora. V závěru teoretické části práce je kapitola, kde je objasněna problematika týrání seniorů, formy násilí a možnosti účinné pomoci. V praktické části je prezentováno výzkumné šetření k problému snahy o uchování individuální autonomie seniorů, a k problému zda- li snížená soběstačnost ovlivňuje výskyt špatného zacházení. K získání výzkumných dat bylo použito dotazníkové šetření, jehož respondenty byli senioři ze dvou ústavních zařízení a z domácího prostředí na Ústecku.

Abstract:

The thesis theme ?Abuse of Seniors? is focused on a bad caring of old people. In the theoretical part are characterised old age and the changes which are connected with this stage of the life. Afterwards we describe the ageing process of society as a global problem. The thesis highlights  the importance of individual autonomy as the ability of seniors independence. In the conclusion of a theoretical part is a chapter dedicated to the problems of bad caring of the seniors, forms of violence and options for effective help. In practical part of the thesis is presented research investigation of the problem of the seniors autonomy and the problem whether reduced self-sufficiency has influence on appearance of a bad care. Data needed for research were gained by questionnaire in between the senior occupants of the two residential homes and from domestic environment in Usti nad Labem district.
