Live Action Performance Festivals

Abstract:

Cílem této bakalářské práce bylo vytvořit doposud neexistující souhrnný přehled festivalů jako případovou studii kurátorských strategií při organizaci mezinárodních festivalů současného umění performance pořádaných švédským kurátorem Jonasem Stampem. Festivaly bychom mohli rozdělit na dvě skupiny. Prvními jsou festivaly ze série Live, kam řadíme Live Action Gothenburg (2006 – dosud), Live Action New York (2009 a 2010), Guangzhou Live (2010 – 2014), a Beijing Live (2016). Druhou skupinou by byly festivaly série Infr‘Action, zde náleží Infr‘Action Sète (2005 – 2014), Infr‘Action Paris (2009 – 2012) a Infr‘Action Venezia (2011, 2013, 2015). Všechny výše uvedené jednotlivé festivaly se od sebe navzájem lišily, ať už mluvíme o množství celkově uspořádaných ročníků, umělecké účasti, ideovém a tematickém zaměření či místě konání. V kapitolách mapujících jednotlivé festivaly dopodrobna se pokaždé snažíme o ucelený soupis a kompletní přehled všech uspořádaných ročníků daného festivalu, informativní popis místa a data konání, zmapované umělecké účasti odkazující se na seznamy účastníků v přiložených přílohách, rozebrání témat daných ročníků a důkladnějšího prozkoumání doprovodných akcí pořádaných v rámci těchto festivalů (iLAS, 15 Minutes of Censorship, Live Global aj.). Všechny nashromážděné informace jsme se poté snažili využít při závěrečném zhodnocení a porovnání festivalů.

Abstract:

The aim of this thesis was to create an comprehensive overview of performance art festivals such as a study of curator strategy at the organisation of international festivals of contemporary art performance organized by swedish curator Jonas Stampe. We can divide the festivals into two groups. The first are festivals from the series Live, where belong festival Live Action Gothenburg (2006 – so far), Live Action New York (2009 and 2010), Guangzhou Live (2010 – 2014), and Beijing Live (2016). The second group are festivals series called Infr‘Action, here we can find Infr‘Action Sète (2005 – 2014), Infr‘Action Paris (2009 – 2012) and Infr‘Action Venice (2011, 2013, 2015). All of the mentioned festivals were different from each other, no matter if we talk about total hold ones, participating artists, ideas and thematic aim or place where it took part. We strived for a total overview and list in the capitols mapping each events thoroughly, a place description and date of taking part, a mapped art performers linked to lists of participants in the added enclosures, a detailed parts of year work and proper mapping of actions organized for this festivals (iLAS, 15 Minutes of Censorship, Live Global). All the gathered information, we tried to use a for final assesment and comparison of festivals.
