Chernobyl and its possible aesthetic qualities

Abstract:

Bakalářská práce s názvem Černobyl a jeho estetické kvality, se věnuje jaderné havárií na Ukrajině, při níž vybouchl jeden ze čtyř reaktorů Černobylské jaderné elektrárny. Z počátku se snažím v krátkosti shrnout vše, co havárii předcházelo a také před jaké následky, lidstvo postavila. Zaměřuji si primárně na fotografy, jakožto prvotní zdroje informací, kteří se následně prolnou s fotografy našeho století, kteří se nechystají zachytit hasiče v akci, ale tichá, bezlidná místa. V další části práce se věnuji Černobylu, jakožto popkulturnímu fenoménu, který svou estetikou lidi fascinuje do takové míry, že se dostává i do uměleckých sfér. V praktické části se inspiruji dvěma snímky od autora Igora Kostina, který se Černobylské havárii věnoval od prvních okamžiků až do své smrti.

Abstract:

The bachelor's thesis entitled Chernobyl and its aesthetic qualities is devoted to the nuclear accident in Ukraine, during which one of the four reactors of the Chernobyl nuclear power plant exploded. From the beginning, I try to briefly summarize everything that preceded the crash and also what consequences it faced humanity. I focus primarily on photographers, as the primary sources of information, who subsequently blend with the photographers of our century, who are not going to capture firefighters in action, but quiet, deserted places. In the next part of the work, I focus on Chernobyl, as a pop culture phenomenon, which fascinates people with its aesthetics to such an extent that it also reaches the artistic spheres. In the practical part, I am inspired by two pictures from the author Igor Kostin, who devoted himself to the Chernobyl accident from the first moments until his death.
