Business contacts and participation of West Bohemian companies at Bavarian trade fairs

Abstract:

This bachelor thesis deals with business contacts and participation of the West Bohemian companies at Bavarian trade fairs. The main aim of this thesis is to discover what trade fairs take place in Bavaria and what West Bohemian companies visit them. The theoretical part provides general information about international marketing, marketing communication, trade fairs and exhibitions. The practical part provides some historical facts about trade between Bavaria and the Czech Republic; furthermore, specific trade fairs are introduced and examined. As for the method of the examination, the author decided to conduct an interview; hence, she has addressed certain West Bohemian companies and one company from Central Bohemia with a branch in West Bohemia. However, few of the addressed companies responded; only two companies have provided adequate information. Eventually, as a result, no personal interviews could have been conducted. Nevertheless, the representatives of both companies were helpful and answered the questions in a written form and by phone. Thanks to this information, the author learned, for example, how the participation of companies at trade fairs looks passive or active. She also came to some conclusions: West Bohemian companies very often cooperate with German companies and visit trade fairs not only in Bavaria, but generally in whole Germany. Trade fairs are still updated and sought-after. These events serve as a good means of communication for businesses that want to introduce new products, gain potential customers, or establish new business relationships.

Abstract:

Tato bakalářská práce se zabývá obchodními kontakty a účastí západočeských podniků na veletrzích v Bavorsku. Hlavním cílem je zjistit, jaké veletrhy se v v této spolkové zemi konají a které západočeské firmy je navštěvují. V teoretické části se autorka zaměřuje na všeobecné informace o mezinárodním marketingu, marketingové komunikaci a veletrzích a výstavách. V praktické části představuje autorka historická fakta spjatá s obchodem mezi Bavorskem a Českem. Dále jsou zde uvedeny a analyzovány konkrétní veletrhy. Jako metodu pro svou práci zvolila autorka formu rozhovoru a oslovila určité západočeské podniky a jeden středočeský podnik s pobočkou v Západních Čechách. Celkově obdržela málo odpovědí a pouze dvě z těchto vybraných firem poskytly užitečné informace. I přes to, že nebylo možné poskytnout osobní rozhovor, byli zástupci firem nápomocni a dotazy zodpověděli písemně i telefonicky. Díky těmto informacím se autorka například dozvěděla, jak vypadá účast podniků na veletrzích pasivně či aktivně. Dospěla také k určitým závěrům: Západočeské firmy spolupracují s německými podniky velmi často a veletrhy navštěvují nejen v Bavorsku, ale obecně v celém Německu. Veletrhy jsou stále aktuální a vyhledávané. Tyto akce slouží jako dobrý komunikační prostředek pro podniky, které chtějí představit nové produkty, získat potencionální zákazníky či navázat nové obchodní vztahy.
