Relations between Czechoslovakia and Austria in the Years 1933 - 1934

Abstract:

Diplomová práce se zabývá československo-rakouskými vztahy od března 1933 do července 1934, což je období, kdy byl v Rakousku nastolen autoritativní režim Engelberta Dollfuße. Pozornost je v prvé řadě věnována zahraničně-politickým diplomatickým vztahům. Ve druhé instanci se pak zaměřuje na obchodní styky, zvláště projednávání obchodní dohody a otázku účasti Československa na finanční pomoci Rakouska. Zkoumané vztahy obou aktérů jsou zasazeny do celkového mezinárodně-bezpečnostního prostředí. Jádro práce tvoří kritická analýza archivních pramenů z Archivu Ministerstva zahraničních věcí ČR. Cílem práce je odpovědět na otázku, zda a nakolik nastolení Dollfußova režimu vzájemné vztahy zatěžovalo.

Abstract:

The bachelor´s thesis deals with the Czechoslovak-Austrian relations from March 1933 to July 1934, which is the period of Engelbert Dollfuß´s authoritarian rule. Attention is primarily focused on diplomatic relations. The thesis is also concerned with their trade relations, specifically the negotiation of the trade agreement and the matter of Czechoslovak participation on financial assistance to Austria. Relations between actors are also set in the context of the international-security environment. The core of the thesis is the analysis of archival sources from Archive of Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic. The aim of the thesis is to answer the question if and what extent the Dollfuß´s regime was a burden to mutual relations.
