Opinions of Czech citizens on the issue of prostitution

Abstract:

Tato diplomová práce se zaměřuje na zjištění názoru občanů České republiky žijících v Moravskoslezském kraji na poskytování sexuálních služeb za úplatu, tedy na prostituci. Práce je rozdělena na část teoretickou a část empirickou. V úvodní kapitole teoretické části se práce zaměřuje na prostituci z hlediska významu tohoto pojmu, uvádí teorie vzniku tohoto chování a dělení prostituce jednak podle osob, které tuto činnost provádějí, ale také podle místa, kde je prostituce provozována. Následuje kapitola, která popisuje chápání prostituce v různých obdobích dějin lidstva, dále kapitola poskytující právní pohled na prostituci a současné přístupy státních autorit ve vybraných státech světa k tomuto rizikovému chování, poté kapitoly zabývající se působností neziskových organizací v této problematice a s tím související preventivní činností. Závěr teoretické části je pak věnován rozdílným sociokulturním normám města a venkova a také některým výzkumům, které byly v oblasti prostituce prováděny. Obsahem empirické části je samotný provedený výzkum. Je zde definován výzkumný problém, stanoven cíl výzkumu a formulovány hypotézy, které jsou na základě získaných dat verifikovány pomocí statistického programu IBM SPSS Statistics. K získání dat z výzkumného vzorku, který je v práci popsán, je užita metoda dotazníkového šetření. V závěru diplomové práce jsou pak uvedeny limity výzkumu a výsledky výzkumu diskutovány.

Abstract:

This diploma thesis focuses on finding out the opinion of the Czech Republic citizens living in the Moravian-Silesian Region on the provision of sexual services for a fee i.e. prostitution. The thesis is divided into a theoretical part and an empirical part. In the introductory chapter of the theoretical part, the thesis focuses on prostitution in terms of the meaning of this term, introduces theories of the origin of this behavior and the division of prostitution according to the persons who perform this activity, but also according to the place where prostitution is practiced. This is followed by a chapter that describes the understanding of prostitution in various periods of human history, then a chapter providing a legal view of prostitution and current approaches of state authorities in selected countries of the world to this risky behavior, then there are chapters dealing with the activities of non-profit organizations in this issue and related preventive activities. The conclusion of the theoretical part is then devoted to the different socio-cultural norms of a city and a countryside and to some of the research that has been carried out in the field of prostitution. The content of the empirical part is the research itself. A research problem is defined, the research objective is set, and hypotheses are formulated, which are verified using the IBM SPSS Statistics statistical program based on the obtained data. To obtain data from the research sample described in the thesis, the questionnaire survey method is used. At the end of the diploma thesis, the limits of the research are stated, and the results of the research are discussed.
