Sustainable packaging in the context of wasting food (identification of critical points)

Abstract:

Diplomová práce se zabývá problematikou nadužívání plastů a plýtvání potravinami. Cílem je kriticky posoudit balení ovoce a zeleniny v kontextu plýtvání potravinami. Práce je rozdělena na teoretickou a praktickou část. Teoreticky zaměřené kapitoly vysvětlují pojmy Zero Waste a Food Waste a dále představují přístupy retailerových řetězců na českém trhu. Praktická část je tvořena rozhovory s vybranými dodavateli ovoce a zeleniny a se zástupci retailerů na českém trhu. Hloubkové rozhovory jsou doplněny dotazníkovým šetřením s českými spotřebiteli, jehož záměrem je doplnit celý dodavatelský řetězec.

Abstract:

This diploma thesis deals with the issues related to plastic usage and food waste. The aim of this thesis is to critically consider packaging of fruit and vegetable in the context of food waste. The thesis is divided into two sections: theoretical and empirical. The theoretically based chapters explain the concept of plastic and food waste, while also focusing on approach of retailers on Czech market. The empirical part consists of interviews with selected suppliers of fruit and vegetable, and also with representatives of retailers on Czech market. These in-depth interviews are then complemented by a questionnaire survey witch Czech consumers, which aims to support complete the supply chain.
