Lithuanian composite adjective and its function in a text

Abstract:

Tato práce se zaměřuje na kompositní adjektivum, což je nápadný gramatický jev litevského jazyka. Práce se skládá z charakteristiky a výkladu litevského kompositního adjektiva, popisu a rozboru historického dramatu Skirgaila, který sloužil k pozorování výskytu kompositních adjektiv, a nakonec z výčtu těchto adjektiv a následného vysvětlení oprávněnosti jejich použití na daném místě v textu. Cílem práce je zpochybnit výklad podaný ve Formální morfologii litevštiny ve funkčním popisu jazyka a snažit se navrhnout vlastní řešení.

Abstract:

This thesis aims on composite adjective which is marked grammatical element in lithuanian language. The thesis consists of characteristic and explication of lithuanian composite adjective, description and analysis of historical drama Skirgaila which was chosen for observing of occurance of composite adjectives, and finally from list of these adjectives and explanation of their use in particular place in the text. The aim of the thesis is to call explication into question from Formal morphology of Lithuanian within a framework of functional description of language and try to suggest our own solution.
