Occupational therapy as part of vestibular rehabilitation in patients with central impairment.

Abstract:

Bakalářská práce se zabývá problematikou vestibulární rehabilitace u pacientů s centrálním postižením z pohledu ergoterapie. V teoretické části jsou představeny základní pojmy spo- jené s vestibulárním systémem, jeho funkcemi a možnými poruchami. V rámci teoretické části je popsána anatomie vestibulárního aparátu, jež je důležitá pro pochopení celé proble- matiky vestibulární rehabilitace. Dále jsou také popsány centrální poruchy související s ves- tibulárním systémem. Následně je popsán úvod do vestibulární rehabilitace, ergoterapeu- tická intervence a praktická hodnocení a vyšetření v rámci ergoterapie. V praktické části jsou popsány hlavní a vedlejší cíle, metodologie práce a analýza dat vyplývající z dotazníkového šetření. Hlavním cílem bylo zmapovat informovanost studentů ergoterapie v oblasti vestibu- lární rehabilitace u pacientů s centrálním postižením. Mezi dílčí cíle patřilo vytvoření dotaz- níku, který byl prostředkem pro vyhodnocení hlavního cíle, vytvoření informativního le- táčku pro odbornou veřejnost a návrh na zařazení vestibulární rehabilitace do výuky na vy- sokých školách. V závěru práce jsou vyhodnoceny a popsány výsledky dotazníkového šet- ření. Výsledky dotazníku poskytují podstatné informace o informovanosti studentů, na které navazuje vyhodnocení hypotéz a diskuze.

Abstract:

The bachelor's thesis deals with the issue of vestibular rehabilitation in patients with central disability from the perspective of occupational therapy. In the theoretical part, the basic terms associated with the vestibular system, its functions and possible disorders are presen- ted. The anatomy of the vestibular apparatus is described in the theoretical part, which is important for understanding the entire issue of vestibular rehabilitation. Central disorders related to the vestibular system are also described. Subsequently, an introduction to vestibu- lar rehabilitation, occupational therapy intervention and practical assessment and examina- tion within occupational therapy is described. In the practical part, the main and secondary goals, work methodology and data analysis from the questionnaire survey are described. The main goal was to map the awareness of occupational therapy students in the field of vesti- bular rehabilitation in patients with central disabilities. Among the sub-sub-objectives was the creation of a questionnaire, which was a means for evaluating the main objective, the creation of an informative leaflet for the professional public and a proposal to include vesti- bular rehabilitation in teaching at universities. At the end of the work, the results of the que- stionnaire survey are evaluated and described. The results of the questionnaire provide essential information about the awareness of the students, which are followed by evaluated hypotheses and discussions.
