Impacts of the coronavirus pandemic on the European Union and selected member states

Abstract:

Bakalářská práce je zaměřena na dopady pandemie koronaviru na Evropskou unii a vybrané členské země, kterými jsou Česká republika, Slovensko a Rakousko. Primárním cílem práce je charakterizovat dopady pandemie na cestovní ruch, který je jedním z nejvíce postižených hospodářských odvětví. Bakalářskou práci tvoří šest kapitol. Kapitoly 1 až 3 seznamují s problematikou pandemie, dosavadním průběhem pandemie na území Evropské unii a reakcí Unie a tří vybraných členských zemí na šíření pandemie koronaviru v roce 2020. Kapitola 4 představuje teoretický úvod do problematiky cestovního ruchu, tedy oblasti, na kterou je zaměřená další část bakalářské práce. Stěžejní část práce tvoří kapitoly 5 a 6, které jsou zaměřené na dopady pandemie na cestovní ruch v Evropské unii a ve třech vybraných členských zemích (kapitola 5) a ekonomická opatření na podporu nejen cestovního ruchu v Evropské unii a ve vybraných členských zemích (kapitola 6). Poznatky uvedené v jednotlivých kapitolách jsou shrnuty v dílčích závěrech. Shrnutí celého díla je obsaženo v závěru práce.

Abstract:

The bachelor thesis deals with the effects of the coronavirus pandemic on the European Union and selected member states, namely the Czech Republic, Slovakia and Austria. The aim of this work is to characterize the effects of the pandemic on tourism, which is one of the most affected economic sectors. The bachelor thesis consists of six chapters. Chapters 1 to 3 outline the issue of the pandemic, the course of the pandemic in the European Union and the response of the Union and three selected member states, to the spread of the coronavirus pandemic in 2020. Chapter 4 presents a theoretical introduction to the tourism aspect of the bachelor thesis. The main component of the work consists of Chapters 5 and 6, which focus on the effects of the pandemic on tourism in the European Union and in the three selected Member States (Chapter 5) and the economic measures to promote tourism not only in the European Union but also in the selected Member States (Chapter 6). The findings presented in the individual chapters are summarized in partial conclusions. A summary of the whole analysis is included in the conclusion of the thesis.
