The Perspectives of European Integration

Abstract:

Od začátku tohoto století zesílila opět debata o základní architektuře Unie. Má diplomová práce je proto zaměřená na perspektivy evropské integrace po odmítnutí Smlouvy o Ústavě pro Evropu. Zvláštní pozornost je věnována pravděpodobným budoucím modelům evropské integrace, kde Evropská unie musí řešit otázku dvou základních procesů, proces prohlubování integrace a rozšiřování Unie. Směřuje Evropská unie k sjednocenému federálnímu státu nebo zůstane unií národních států? Moje diplomová práce též hledá odpověď na otázku: jakou pozici bude mít integrovaná Evropa v budoucím světě a stane se EU supervelmocí? Zvláštní část práce je zaměřena na analýzu vnitřních (na národní a unijní úrovni)a vnějších faktorů ovlivňujících integrační proces a srovnání evropské ústavy s novou Lisabonskou smlouvou.

Abstract:

At the turn of the new century there is a renewed debate concerning the basic architecture of the Union. This thesis focuses on the perspectives of European integration after rejection of the Treaty establishing a Constitution of Europe. Special attention is paid to the possible models of European integration in the future where the European Union has to solve two general processes, the process of deepening and the process of enlargement. Is the EU heading to a united federal state or it remains as the union of sovereign national states? My thesis also looks answer into question: which position will have the integrated Europe in the future world and can be the EU a super country? Special part of this thesis is aimed to the analyzing of inner (on national and union level) and outside factors influencing the European integration process and to the comparison of the European Constitution and new Treaty of Lisbon.
