Anotace:

Tato diplomová práce se zabývá srovnávací analýzou, která porovnává tři české překlady anglické klasiky pro děti The Wind in the Willows od Kennetha Grahama. Práce je rozdělena do dvou částí – teoretické a praktické. Teoretická část nejdříve představí autora, základní informace o díle a jeho hlavní témata. Poté rozebírá překlad jako takový, dětskou literaturu a specifika jejího překladu. Praktická část srovnává tři české překlady s anglickým originálem a vysvětluje hlavní problémy, zvláštnosti, ale i světlé stránky všech překladů ve snaze určit, který překlad je dnes pro děti nejvhodnější.

Abstract:

This diploma thesis focuses on a comparative analysis of three Czech translations of The Wind in the Willows by Kenneth Grahame. The theoretical part first introduces the author, basic information about the book and its main themes. It also discusses translation as such, children’s literature and the specifics of its translation. The practical part compares three Czech translations with the English original, and comments on the main problems, peculiarities, and the positive aspects of all translations to determine which translation is the most suitable for children today.
