Abstract:

Tato práce se zaměřuje na vizuální přístup a pojetí knihy Sarah Janet Maasové Dvůr z trní a růží (2015) v kontextu filmové scénografie. Cílem je vytvořit ucelený vizuální koncept, který věrně interpretuje a rozšiřuje původní literární dílo. Práce je rozdělena do dvou hlavních částí: teoretické a praktické. Teoretická část analyzuje žánr young adult (YA) fantasy, jeho historický vývoj, klíčové tematické prvky, narativní struktury a jejich vliv na kulturní a společenský kontext. Praktická část se zaměřuje na adaptaci konkrétní knihy do vizuální podoby s důrazem na architekturu a výtvarné prvky knižního světa. Metodologicky kombinuje tradiční skicování, fotografické koláže a moderní technologie včetně umělé inteligence pro vytvoření detailních vizualizací. Výsledkem je komplexní výtvarný návrh, který ukazuje, jak se teoretické koncepty YA fantasy mohou promítnout do praktické tvorby a jak tyto příběhy mohou vnímat a interpretovat diváci. Tato práce přispívá k hlubšímu pochopení a ocenění YA fantasy jako významného kulturního fenoménu a jeho role v současné literatuře a filmu.

Abstract:

This thesis focuses on the visual approach and concept of Sarah Janet Maas's book A Court of Thorns and Roses (2015) within the context of film stage design. The aim is to create a cohesive visual concept that faithfully interprets and expands upon the original literary work. The thesis is divided into two main parts: theoretical and practical. The theoretical part analyzes the young adult (YA) fantasy genre, its historical development, key thematic elements, narrative structures, and its impact on cultural and social contexts. The practical part focuses on adapting a specific book into a visual format, emphasizing the architecture and artistic elements of the book's world. Methodologically, it combines traditional sketching, photographic collages, and modern technologies including artificial intelligence to create detailed visualizations. The outcome is a comprehensive artistic design that demonstrates how theoretical concepts of YA fantasy can translate into practical creation and how these stories can be perceived and interpreted by audiences. This work contributes to a deeper understanding and appreciation of YA fantasy as a significant cultural phenomenon and its role in contemporary literature and film.
