Anti-radicalization policy of the European Union

Abstract:

Bakalářská práce se zabývá tématem anti-radikalizační politika Evropské unie a jejími preventivními programy a nástroji v oblasti radikalismu a extremismu. Teoretická část se skládá z pěti kapitol. První kapitola se v první části zaměřuje a definuje samotný radikalismus a radikalizaci včetně jeho forem a vymezení, kdo se vlastně považuje za radikála a extrémistu. V druhé části první kapitoly definuje pojmy extremismus, terorismus a náboženský fundamentalismus. Druhá kapitola se zaměřuje na definování, na co se anti-radikalizační programy soustřeďují a ve svých podkapitolách, definuje radikalizaci v pojetí Evropské unii a jednotlivé programy, které využívá a doporučuje členským státům. Třetí kapitola věnuje pozornost radikalismu a extremismu u mládeže a její prevenci na internetu a preventivním programům, které podporuje Evropská komise. Čtvrtá a pátá kapitola se zaměřuje na vybrané státy – tedy Dánsko a Německo a jejich protiextremistické strategie a přístupy, které budou předmětem pro praktickou část a její následnou SWOT analýzu, která bude zhodnocovat jejich preventivní naplňování a zda jsou programy efektivní či ne. V závěru je celá práce shrnuta s výsledky praktické části a osobním pohledem. Hlavním cílem této bakalářské práce je zhodnocení a analyzování anti-radikalizační politiky Evropské unie a zaměření se prevenci a preventivní programy vybraných Evropských států a na vzdělávání mládeže proti extremismu.

Abstract:

The bachelor thesis deals with the anti-radicalisation policy of the European Union and its preventive programmes and tools in the field of radicalism and extremism. The theoretical part consists of five chapters. The first part of the chapter focuses and defines radicalism and radicalisation itself, including its forms and defining who is actually considered a radical and extremist. The second part of the first chapter defines the terms extremism, terrorism and religious fundamentalism. The second chapter focuses on defining what anti-radicalization programs focus on and in its subchapters, defines radicalization in terms of the European Union and the various programs it uses and recommends to member states. The third chapter focuses on radicalism and extremism among youth and its prevention on the internet and the prevention programmes supported by the European Commission. The fourth and fifth chapters focus on selected countries – namely Denmark and Germany and their anti-extremism strategies and approaches, which will be the subject for the practical part and its subsequent SWOT analysis that will evaluate their preventive implementation and whether the programmes are effective or not. Finally, the whole thesis is summarized with the results of the practical part and a personal perspective. The main aim of this bachelor thesis is to evaluate and analyse the anti-radicalisation policy of the European Union and to focus on the prevention and prevention programmes of selected European countries and on youth education against extremism
