Abstract:

Diplomová práce se zabývá ozbrojenými konflikty na africkém kontinentu v období. Cílem práce je pomocí analytického přístupu poskytnout ucelený a odborný pohled na problematiky ozbrojených konfliktů v Africe po koci studené války a také objasnit přeměnu a vývoj konfliktů po roce 1989 do současnosti. Autor práce zkoumá ozbrojené konflikty z pohledu řešení konfliktů (conflict resolution), vědní disciplíny spadající do oblasti teorie konfliktů v mezinárodních vztazích. Diplomová práce je rozdělena do dvou částí, první z nich analyzuje ozbrojené konflikty pomocí teoretického rámce se zaměřením na jejich příčiny, vývoj a charakteristické trendy, jenž jsou pro africký kontinent typické. Ve druhé části diplomové práce je potom autorem, na základě poznatků z první části, předložena široká případová studie občanské války ve Rwandě.

Abstract:

The thesis deals with armed conflicts on the African continent during the period. The aim of the work is to provide, through an analytical approach, a comprehensive and expert view of the issues of armed conflicts in post-Cold War Africa, as well as to clarify the transformation and evolution of conflicts after 1989 to the present day. The author examines armed conflicts from the perspective of conflict resolution, scientific disciplines falling within the field of conflict theory in international relations. The thesis is divided into two parts, the first of which analyses armed conflicts using a theoretical framework focusing on their causes, developments and characteristic trends typical of the African continent. In the second part of the thesis, a broad case study of the civil war in Rwanda is presented by the author, based on the findings of the first part.
