The thesis explores the role of the teacher in alternative education, namely focusing on three approaches, that is Montessori education, Waldorf pedagogy and the Dalton Plan. In the theoretical part, alternative education is described together with the history of chosen alternative approaches, the role of the teacher and the motivation in alternative education.
