Rebranding the BuranTeatr theatre

Abstract:

The diploma thesis deals with the transformation of the non-profit theatre BuranTeatr in Brno from the nature of the operation of the repertoire theatre into the platform open to the wider context of an artistic production and a support in fields of performing arts, alternative music and fine arts. The aim of the diploma thesis is to develop a strategic plan leading to the rebranding of the theatre from the season 2021/2022 based on the strategic planning until 2025. The plan is developed in connection with the historical context of the theatre, its natural development and the wider context of the operation of cultural institutions in the field of performing arts. The diploma thesis is theoretically based on the development of theatres and artistic institutions in the 21st century in the non-profit sector, it deals with their dynamic and flexible response to artistic trends or the development of socio-political-cultural environment. The practical part of the diploma thesis is specifically devoted to the strategic planning of the rebranding of the BuranTeatr – (re)formulation of the mission of the institution, elaboration of the situation analysis, goals of the institution, definition of the strategy and marketing strategy with a communication manual for the institution.

Abstract:

Diplomová práca sa venuje transformácii neziskového divadla BuranTeatr v Brne z povahy prevádzky repertoárového divadla na platformu otvorenú širšiemu kontextu umeleckej tvorby a podpory tvorby v oblasti performing arts, alternatívnej hudby a výtvarného umenia. Cieľom práce je vypracovať strategický plán vedúci k rebrandingu divadla od sezóny 2021/2022 vychádzajúci zo strategického plánovania organizácie BuranTeatr do roku 2025. Plán je zostavovaný v nadväznosti na historický kontext divadla, jeho prirodzený vývoj a na širší kontext prevádzkovania kultúrnych inštitúcii v oblasti performing arts. Diplomová práca sa teoreticky opiera o vývoj divadiel a umeleckých inštitúcií v 21. storočí v prostredí neziskového sektoru, venuje sa ich dynamickej a flexibilnej reakcii na umelecké trendy či vývoj spoločensko-politicko-kultúrneho prostredia. Praktická časť diplomovej práce je venovaná konkrétne strategickému plánovaniu rebrandingu divadla BuranTeatr –(re)formulácii poslania inštitúcie, vypracovaniu situačnej analýzy, cieľov inštitúcie, definovaniu stratégie a marketingovej stratégie s komunikačným manuálom.
