Analysis of unemployment in the Ustí nad Labem region with a focus on district of Teplice in years 2010-2020

Abstract:

Bakalářská práce se věnuje analýze vývoje nezaměstnanosti v Ústeckém kraji a v okrese Teplice v letech 2010–2020. Teoretická část práce pomocí metody odborné literární rešerše charakterizuje pojmy a koncepty souvisejícími s trhem práce, nezaměstnaností a státní politikou zaměstnanosti. Prostřednictvím statistických dat získaných z databází Ministerstva práce a sociálních věcí, Českého statistického úřadu a Krajské pobočky Úřadu práce v Ústí nad Labem praktická část sleduje a analyzuje vývoj nezaměstnanosti podle vybraných ukazatelů. Ústecký kraj vykazuje dlouhodobě nejvyšší míru nezaměstnanosti v České republice, ve sledovaném období lze však pozorovat její pokles na historicky nejnižší hodnoty. Na základě provedených analýz dochází práce k závěru, že vysoká nezaměstnanost v Ústeckém kraji je významně ovlivněna ekonomikou silně orientovanou na průmysl a nízkým vzděláním obyvatelstva. Zvýšenou péči je třeba věnovat osobám bez kvalifikace, mladým do 30 let, osobám v předdůchodovém věku, dlouhodobě nezaměstnaným a obyvatelům sociálně vyloučených lokalit. V závěru práce jsou také formulována konkrétní hospodářsko-politická doporučení.

Abstract:

The bachelor’s thesis analyzes the development of unemployment in Ústí nad Labem region and in the district of Teplice in years 2010 – 2020. The theoretical part of the thesis characterizes the terms and concepts related to the labour market, unemployment and state employment policy using the method of literature research. Through statistical data obtained from databases of the Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs, the Czech Statistical Office and the Regional Branch of the Labour Office in Ústí nad Labem, the practical part of the thesis monitors and analyzes the development of unemployment according to the selected indicators. For a long time, the Ústí nad Labem region had the highest rate of unemployment in the Czech Republic, but the thesis observes the decrease of the rate to its historically lowest values in the reviewed period. Based on the analysis, the thesis concludes that high unemployment in the Ústí nad Labem region is significantly influenced by a strongly industry orientated economy and low education of the population. Increased attention should be given to unqualified people, young people under the age of 30, people of pre-retirement age, the long-term unemployed and residents of socially excluded areas. In the end, the thesis also provides specific economic and political recommendations.
