The Significance, Role and the Possibilities of Additional Development of Parish Libraries in the Brno Diocese

Abstract:

Bakalářská práce „Význam, postavení a možnosti dalšího rozvoje farních knihoven Brněnské diecéze“ se zabývá průzkumem stavu římskokatolických farních knihoven v Brněnské diecézi. Z informací, získaných z dotazníkového průzkumu, byl vytvořen informativní soupis se základními údaji o farních knihovnách. Soupis obsahuje kontaktní údaje na jednotlivé knihovny, informace o jejich fondu, jeho uspořádání a členění, informace o technickém zázemí knihoven, výpůjční době, stručné historii, propagaci a způsobu financování. Získané údaje jsou zpracovány a vyhodnoceny také statisticky v grafech a tabulkách. Práce obsahuje zhodnocení webových stránek farních knihoven. Na závěr je s pomocí vlastních názorů knihovníků farních knihoven nastíněno několik možností budoucího rozvoje. Přihlédnuto je k významu farních knihoven jak pro farní obce, ve kterých působí, tak pro celou společnost.

Abstract:

The “Significance, role and the possibilities of additional development of parish libraries in the Brno diocese” thesis explores a research of the status of the roman catholic parish libraries in the Brno diocese. An informational listing containing all of the basic data about the parish libraries was created based on the information gathered from a questionnaire research. This listing includes contact information for the individual libraries, information about their stock, its lay-out and structure, information about technical facilities of the libraries, library hours, brief history, advertising and method of funding. The acquired data is also compiled and evaluated statistically in graphs and tables.Evaluation of the parish libraries websites is included. You will find several sketches of possible future development based on ideas of librarians themselves at the conclusion of the thesis. The importance of the parish libraries for the parishes in which they operate and for the society as a whole is taken into consideration.
