Use of care allowance among the elderly population in Třebíč region

Abstract:

Cílem této diplomové práce bylo zodpovědět hlavní výzkumnou otázku „Jaké faktory ovlivňují seniory pobírající příspěvek na péči při volbě poskytovatele pomoci?“ Teoretická část diplomové práce obsahuje informace týkající se stáří a stárnutí a s tím související snížené soběstačnosti ve stáří. Tato část práce dále pojednává o příspěvku na péči jako novém způsobu financování sociálních služeb, který by měl zajistit příjemcům větší autonomii v rozhodování, jakým způsobem získané prostředky využijí na zajištění své potřebné péče. Teoretická část práce dále předkládá stručné informace o sociálních službách a seznamuje s konkrétními sociálními službami pro seniory na Třebíčsku. Poslední část teoretické části je věnována rozhodování. Empirická část práce je tvořena metodologickou a analytickou částí. Obsahuje metodické zdůvodnění výběru kvalitativního způsobu výzkumu a samotný výzkum, který byl realizován formou polostrukturovaných rozhovorů s vybranými respondenty z řad seniorů se sníženou soběstačností, kteří pobírají příspěvek na péči. V poslední části jsou zjištěná data analyzována a interpretována. V závěru jsou shrnuta hlavní zjištění výzkumu a doporučení pro další praxi.

Abstract:

The aim of this thesis is to answer the main question: "What factors affect seniors receiving care allowance when choosing a provider to help?" The theoretical part of the thesis contains information on age and aging and the associated reduced self-sufficiency in old age. This part also focuses on the care allowance as a new way of financing social services. This allowance should guarantee its beneficiaries greater independence in deciding how to use the funds received to ensure their necessary care. Furthermore, the theoretical part presents brief information on social services and introduces specific social services for the elderly in Třebíč region. The last part of the theoretical part focuses on decision-making. The empirical part consists of methodological and analytical parts. It includes methodological rationale for the selection of qualitative research method and the research itself. The research was implemented in the form of semi-structured interviews with selected respondents among the seniors with reduced self-sufficiency who received the care allowance. The last part analyzes and interprets the collected data. The conclusion summarizes the main findings of the research and recommendations for future practice.
