Dědičná a opakovatelná proměnlivost výkonnostních znaků patří mezi základní podmínky jejich evoluce přírodní selekcí. Ačkoliv mnoho studií zkoumalo opakovatelnost pohybové výkonnosti u ektotermních obratlovců, překvapivě malá pozornost byla věnována potenciálnímu vlivu aklimačních a experimentálních teplot na tento parametr.
