This bachelor thesis is focused on Scottish place-names. It provides an interesting overview of Scottish history and toponymy, both in mainland Scotland and its island. It aims to provide an analysis of the elements incorporated in Scottish place-names, with a special focus on their origin and meaning. Tato bakalářská práce je zaměřena na skotské místní názvy. Nabízí zajímavý průřez historií a toponymií Skotska, a to jak jeho pevninské, tak ostrovní části. Jejím cílem je poskytnout přehled elementů vyskytujících se ve skotských místních názvech se zvláštním zaměřením na jejich původ a význam.
