The sporting motivation of generation Z

Abstract:

Diplomová práce je zaměřena na zjištění, jakou má generace Z motivaci ke sportování. Nejprve v teoretické části rozeberu motivaci jako takovou, zaměřím se na její vymezení a definici. Poté se budu věnovat zdrojům motivace. Vymezím čtyři základní teorie motivace (Maslowova hierarchie potřeb, Herzbergova teorie dvou dimenzí motivace k práci, výkonová motivace, afilační teorie). Následovat bude dělení motivace na vnitřní a vnější. V druhé části teoretické části se dostanu k sportovní motivaci, konkrétně k její struktuře. Poté zmíním, jak správně motivovat sportovce. Vymezím, jak nastavit motivační klima v týmu. A v neposlední řadě se budu zabývat pojmy jako je flow a aspirace, které jsou čím dál více skloňovány v souvislosti se sportovním výkonem. V praktické části potom udělám výzkum pomocí dotazníkového šetření a díky dotazníku The Sport Motivation Scale – II a The Relative Autonomy Indexu zjistím, jak jsou hráči a hráčky fotbalu na různých výkonnostních úrovních a v různých věkových kategoriích motivováni.

Abstract:

This masters theses is focused on finding out the sources of motivation for generation Z to do sport activities. Initially I will focus on the theoretical part. I will define the meaning of motivation. Then I will focus on specific sources of motivation. I will outline four different theories of motivation (Maslow's hierarchy of needs, Herzberg's theory of two dimensions of work motivation, performance motivation, affiliate theory). This will be followed by the division of motivation into internal and external types. Secondly in the theoretical part I will analyze sporting motivation and specifically its structure, detailing how to motivate athletes effectively. Further to this analysis my work will suggest ways in which a coach can foster a productive and healthy motivational climate within a team environment. Two further concepts will be included in the study: flow and aspiration. In the practical part of the assignment The Sport Motivation Scale questionnaire and The Relative Autonomy Index will be used to determine how football players are motivated at different performance levels and in different age categories.
