Lokalizačné služby sú bežnou súčasťou súčasných mobilných aplikácií. Typicky sa používajú na získanie polohy užívateľa alebo navigovanie ku konkrétnemu miestu. Existuje avšak ďalšie využitie GPS, ktoré doteraz nenaplnilo svoj potenciál.
