Behavioral Changes of Hotel Guests due to the Covid-19 Pandemic

Abstract:

Diplomová práce na téma Proměny chování hotelových hostů v důsledku pandemie covid-19 , na základě literární rešerše zdrojů představuje hlavní proměnné cestovního ruchu, seznamuje čtenáře s hlavními aspekty a proměnnými, které mohou ovlivňovat návštěvnost konkrétního zařízení. Zaměřuje se také na srovnání a doporučení nabídky pro konkrétní hotel, kdy v důsledku pandemie covid-19 lze vypozorovat jiné návštěvnické chování a je tak potřeba reagovat pružnou změnou nabízených služeb. Cílem diplomové práce tak jak bylo nastaveno zkoumání proměn chování hotelových hostů v důsledku pandemie covid-19. Budeme zde analyzovat data vybraného hotelu, která se týkají proměn chování hotelových hostů a úspěšnosti hotelu v době před pandemií, v době pandemie a po skončení pandemie. Subjektem zkoumání je spotřebitelské chování v cestovním ruchu a jeho změny, objektem zkoumání jsou hoteloví hosté. Pro zpracování diplomové práce byla použita literární rešerše, dále byla použita a zanalyzována konkrétní a skutečná data zkoumaného hotelu.Diplomová práce je rozdělena na tři části: první, teoretická část představuje cestovní ruch jako takový, spotřebitelské chování v cestovním ruchu a přístupy k jeho zkoumání. Důležitou součástí teoretické části jsou i nové poznatky o probíhající pandemii covid-19 a jejího vlivu na cestovní ruch. Druhou částí je část analytická, zde se již zaměřujeme na konkrétní hotel. V úvodu se s hotelem seznámíme a dále se věnujeme analýze jednotlivých proměn v chování hotelových hostů. Závěr analytické části se zaměřuje na vyhodnocení stanovených otázek a hypotéz. Třetí částí jsou výstupy a poznatky práce, které obsahují konkrétní doporučení pro daný hotel.

Abstract:

The Thesis Statement on the topic of Changes in the behavior of hotel guests as a result of the covid-19 pandemic, is based on literature research, and presents the main changes of the tourism industry. It introduces the reader to the main aspects and variables that influence the occupancy of a specific facility. It also focuses on comparing and recommending the appropriate plan of action for a specific hotel as a result of the covid-19 pandemic. As a result of the covid- 19 pandemic, different guest’s behavior has been observed and therefore, it is necessary to respond by modifying and changing the services being offered.The aim of the Thesis Statement is to investigate changes in the behavior of hotel guests as a result of the covid-19 pandemic. Collected data of a specific hotel are analyzed in relation to changes in the behavior of hotel guests and the success of the hotel in the period before the pandemic, during the pandemic and after the end of the pandemic. The objective of the research is consumer behavior in tourism and its changes, the subjects of research are the hotel guests.The Thesis Statement is divided into three parts: the first, theoretical part, presents tourism as a whole, the consumer behavior in tourism, and the approach to my research. The data obtained from the covid-19 pandemic and its effect on tourism are represented in the first theoretical part. The second part is the analytical section, which focuses on a specific hotel. At the beginning of this section, the specific hotel is introduced, and the individual changes in the behavior of hotel guests are analyzed. The conclusion of the analytical part focuses on the evaluation of the established questions and hypotheses. The third part introduces a marketing proposal based on the data collected, which contains specific recommendations for the analyzed hotel.
