Predicted development of spas in the region of Karlovy Vary

Abstract:

Předkládaná diplomová práce je věnována problematice lázeňství v Karlovarském kraji a predikci jeho fungování. Diplomová práce seznamuje s významem oblasti lázeňství pro Českou republiku, přibližuje problematiku krize lázeňství, ve které se tato oblast v současné době nachází. Cílem práce je z pozice místního občana a zastupitele jednoho z měst vybraného regionu stanovit predikci fungování západočeského lázeňského regionu, který se od fungování ostatních lázeňských regionů v České republice liší. Cíl práce je napl-něn na základě situační analýzy vnitřního a vnějšího prostředí tří lázeňských míst – Karlovy Vary, Františkovy Lázně a Mariánské Lázně. Ta je provedena na základě vlastních poznatků, na základě diskusí s předními českými odborníky na problematiku lázeňství, kteří své postoje prezentují na různých konferencích, v publikacích apod. a na základě rozboru statistických údajů získaných od Českého statistického úřadu a Ústavu zdravotnických informací a statistiky České republiky.

Abstract:

Presented Diploma Thesis deals with the topic of Spa resort in Karlovy Vary region and with the prediction of its future operation. The Thesis introduces the importance of Spa domain for the Czech Republic, it also approach the issue of the nowadays spa crisis. The aim of the Thesis is from the position of a local citizen and the representatives of one of the cities of selected region to establish the prediction of the functioning of the West Bohemia Spa region, which differs from the functioning of other spa regions in the Czech Republic. The aim is reached through the situation analysis of the internal and external factors influ-encing the functioning of three spa places – Karlovy Vary, Franzensbad and Marienbad. The analysis is constructed on the base of own findings, on the base of discussions with leading experts in the Czech spa industry who presents their views at various conferences, publications etc. and on the base of statistical analysis of data obtained from the Czech Statistical Office and the Institute of Health Information and Statistics of the Czech Repub-lic.
