Measures to Increase Safety and Improve National Road Transport Network and Traffic Situation in South Africa

Abstract:

This bachelor thesis proposes measures to increase safety of national road transport networks in South Africa through the implementating of a Reliable railway, road, bus and taxi transport network (RRRBTTN). The main focus of this bachelor thesis will be on how best to implement a transport network that will be able to reduce the current road accidents and the high congestion rate on the South African national roads network. I will be using a hypothesis (Indentification of the current problem and a proposed solutions to these problems) approach which will outline a proposed solutions to the current transport problems on the South African roads and a diagnosis of what needs to be implemented in bettering these infrastructure and the how-to structure that will be used to formulate and upgrade the current situation. Transport networks structures that needs to be remodelled and how to implement these networks which will ultimately lead to what this thesis seeks to achieve: How to minimize roads carnages and congestions on the South African roads by maximizing the use of RRRBTTN and maximize usage of this network which will lead to decrease in loss of life on those South African roads.

Abstract:

Tato bakalářská práce je zaměřena na opatření ke zvýšení bezpečnosti silniční sítě ve vnitrostátní přepravě v Jižní Africe prostřednictvím provádění RRRBTTN (spolehlivá dopravní síť železniční, silniční, autobusové dopravy a taxislužby). Dále bude bakalářská práce zaměřena hlavně na to, jak nejlépe implementovat dopravní síť, která významně sníží současnou úroveň silničních nehod a dopravní kongesce na silnicích Jihoafrické republiky. V práci budou navržena možná řešení stávajících problémů na jihoafrických silnicích, dále bude diagnostikováno co je potřeba zlepšit, jaká opatření je nutno přijmout a jakým způsobem může být infrastruktura inovována a vylepšena v porovnání se současným stavem. V práci je navrženo jak zlepšení na těchto dopravních sítích provést, což v konečném důsledku může vést k dosažení stanoveného cíle, to znamená: Jak minimalizovat počet silničních nehod na jihoafrických silnicích a zároveň maximalizovat využití RRRBTTN v naději na výrazné snížení ztrát na lidských životech na silniční síti.
