Free movement of capital as an integral part of the single internal market

Abstract:

The aim of my thesis is an analysis of the free movement of capital as one of the fundamental freedoms of the EU unified internal market. The emergence of the European Community founding states set targets, which they are seek to achieve also today. Economic development and ensuring prosperity in Europe are the primary objectives of the EU. The creation of the unified internal market was based on the agreement of the member states. The internal market was supposed to look like, so that all the national markets of the member states will operate as one single market without any restrictions. Elements that characterize the unified internal market of the European Union are free movement of goods, person, services and capital. Free movement of capital between member states is an important part of the conditions for the functioning of the other freedoms of the internal market, and also for the functioning of economic and monetary union. The main objective and purpose of the freedom of capital and payments movement is the prohibition of discrimination and the prohibition of the introduction of restrictions. Freedom of movement of capital allows the movement of factors of production there, where they can admit the highest profit in the EU. Movement of capital also contributes to the increase of the diversification of portfolios and thereby to the risk reduction.

Abstract:

Cieľom mojej diplomovej práce je analýza voľného pohybu kapitálu ako jednej zo základných slobôd jednotného vnútorného trhu EÚ. Pri vzniku Európskeho spoločenstva si zakladajúce štáty stanovili ciele, ktoré sa snažia dosahovať aj v súčasnosti. Hospodársky rozmach a zabezpečenie prosperity v Európe sú základné ciele EÚ. Vytvorenie spoločného vnútorného trhu spočívalo na dohode členských štátov. Vnútorný trh mal vyzerať tak, že všetky národné trhy členských štátov budú fungovať ako jeden spoločný trh bez obmedzení. Prvkami, ktoré charakterizujú spoločný vnútorný trh Európskej únie, sú voľný pohyb tovaru, osôb, služieb a kapitálu. Voľný pohyb kapitálu medzi členskými štátmi je dôležitou súčasťou podmienok pre fungovanie ostatných slobôd vnútorného trhu a zároveň fungovanie hospodárskej a menovej únie. Základným cieľom a zmyslom pre slobodu pohybu kapitálu a platieb je zákaz diskriminácie a zákaz zavádzania obmedzení. Sloboda pohybu kapitálu umožňuje pohyb výrobných faktorov tam, kde môžu vynášať najviac v rámci EÚ. Pohyb kapitálu taktiež prispieva k zvýšeniu diverzifikácie portfólií a tým aj znižovaniu rizík.
