Restriction-modification systems of staphylococci
Abstract:
Práce bude zaměřena na popis restrikčně-modifikačních systémů zjištěných u druhu Staphylococcus aureus s cílem podat přehled o jejich funkci, zejména o jejich vlivu na přenos genů mezi kmeny a na citlivost kmenů k bakteriofágům. Bude rovněž zdůrazněn dopad působení R-M systémů na evoluci patogenních kmenů, zejména s ohledem na jejich virulenci a rezistenci k antibiotikům.
Abstract:
The main aim of this bachelor thesis is to characterize the restriction-modification systems identified in Staphylococcus aureus and to review their function as well as the impact on horizontal gene transfer between S. aureus strains and their susceptibility to antibiotics.
