Evaluation of the level of motor skills of primary school pupils

Abstract:

Cílem diplomové práce bylo popsat úroveň motoriky žáků základních škol. K testování byla využita mezinárodní testová baterie CAMSA (kanadské hodnocení agility a pohybových dovedností), která je užitečným, validním a spolehlivým nástrojem poskytující měření základních, komplexních a kombinovaných pohybových dovedností, které odráží známé vývojové změny v pohybových dovednostech a nabízí alternativní přístup k hodnocení pohybových dovedností, který je vhodný pro sledování populace nebo hodnocení skupin dětí v relativně krátkém časovém období (Longmuir et al., 2017). Studie se zúčastnilo 265 dětí ve věku 8 až 12 let, z toho 121 děvčat a 144 chlapců. Z výsledků bylo zjištěno, že 52,83 % spadá to kategorie Pokročilý a 13,56 % do Začínající, to znamená, že 66,42 % všech testovaných žáků nespadá do doporučené normy CAMSA (Healthy Active Living and Obesity Research Group, 2017). Doporučenou normu, tudíž kategorii Úspěšný a Vynikající dosáhlo 33,59 % žáků (16,60 a 16,98).

Abstract:

The aim of the thesis was to describe the level of motor skills of primary school pupils. The CAMSA (Canadian Assessment of Agility and Movement Skills) international test battery was used, which is a useful, valid and reliable instrument providing measures of basic, complex and combined movement skills that reflect known developmental changes in movement skills and offers an alternative approach to assessing movement skills that is suitable for population or group assessment of children over a relatively short period of time (Longmuir et al, 2017). 265 children aged 8 to 12 years, 121 girls and 144 boys, participated in the study. From the results, it was found that 52.83 % fell into the Progressing category and 13.56 % fell into the Beginning category, meaning that 66.42 % of all students tested did not fall within the recommended CAMSA standard (Healthy Active Living and Obesity Research Group, 2017). 33.59 % of the pupils (16.60 and 16.98) achieved the recommended standard, hence the category of Achieving and Excelling.
