This thesis deals with the portrayal of spy roles as depicted in the novels Native Speaker by Chang-rae Lee and The Sympathizer by Viet Thanh Nguyen. It depicts the relevant literary and historical context of the two novels as well as the novels' genres such as postmodernism and spy fiction.
