Abstract:

Bakalářská práce Step, jeho rozšíření v Čechách a osobnost Franka Towena pojednává o americkém tanečním stylu u nás známém jako step. V originálním jazyce se však nazývá Tap dance. Cílem této práce je ohlédnout se za počátky stepu v Čechách, vyzdvihnout osobnosti, které se zasloužily o rozšíření stepu nejen u nás. Práce obsahuje vysvětlení tanečního stylu step a jeho původ. Následuje vývoj stepu v Americe a poté v Čechách. Dále pojednává o stepu v tehdejším Československu, a sice o Franku Towenovi a dalších významných osobnostech. Obsahem této práce je také výzkum zaměřený na povědomí o historii stepu a jeho cílem byly stepařské školy a studia v ČR. V závěru práce je popsána aktuální situace na našem území pohledem autora.

Abstract:

The bachelor’s thesis Tap dance, its spread in Bohemia and the personality of Frank Towen deals with the American dance style known in our country as step. In the original language, however, it is called tap dance. The aim of this work is to look back at the beginnings of tap dance in Bohemia, to highlight personalities who have contributed to the expansion of tap dance not only in our country. The work explains the tap dance style and its origin. This is followed by the development of tap in America and then in the Czech Republic. He also discusses the dance style tap dance in what was then Czechoslovakia, namely Frank Towen and other important personalities. The content of this work is also research focused on awareness of the history of tap and its goal were tap dancing schools and studies in the Czech Republic. At the end of the thesis, the current situation in our territory is described from the author’s point of view.
