The aim of this bachelor thesis is to acquaint the reader with film festivals that take place in the area of the Czech Republic, with its history and activity. Cílem bakalářské práce je seznámit čtenáře s filmovými festivaly, které se konají na území České republiky, s jejich historií a činností. Práce je rozdělena do dvou kapitol. První kapitola obsahuje 2 podkapitoly, v níž je popsán vznik a historie filmu ve světě a v České republice.
