Sociocultural management issues for the hotel industry

Abstract:

Diplomová práce se zabývá tématem organizační kultury se zaměřením na interkulturní management. V úvodu práce jsou vymezeny pojmy organizační kultury, dále jsou popsány principy společenské odpovědnosti podniků s důrazem na hotelový průmyslu a závěr kapitoly se věnuje organizační kultuře z pohledu managementu, zaměstnanců a úloze řízení lidských zdrojů. Druhá kapitola je věnována interkulturnímu managementu a komunikaci, zabývá se rozvojem interkulturních kompetencí manažera a postavením zaměstnance v multikulturním prostředí firmy. Praktická část práce se zaměřuje na empirické šetření, jehož cílem je analýza dat získaných z dotazníkového šetření a strukturovaného rozhovoru zaměřeného na interkulturalitu v hotelovém průmyslu na Floridě a ve vybraném hotelu ve městě Orlando. Závěrem práce jsou shrnuty výsledky a vyhodnocení hypotéz.

Abstract:

This thesis focuses on the topic of organizational culture focused on intercultural management. The introduction defines the concepts of organizational culture, further describes the principles of corporate social responsibility with an emphasis on the hotel industry and the end of the chapter is devoted to organizational culture from the perspective of management, employees and the role of human resources management. The second chapter is devoted to intercultural management and communication, dealing with the development of intercultural competencies manager and staff positions in a multicultural businness environment. The practical part focuses on an empirical investigation whose aim is the analysis of data obtained from questionaires and structured interview focused on interculturalism in the hotel industry in Florida and the selected hotel in Orlando. Finally, we summarize the results and evaluation of hypotheses.
