Abstract:

Kultura je tvořena hodnotami, které členové společnosti vyznávají, normami, které regulují jejich chování, a hmotnými statky, které členové společnosti vytvářejí. Sociologie Emila Durkheima obsahuje z velké části témata, která se kultury týkají, nicméně samotná definice kultury jako taková v něm obsažena není. Tato diplomová práce se zabývá otázkou, co je pro Durkheima kultura, kdo a co ji tvoří, jakým způsobem vzniká a vyvíjí se a jaký jazyk a pojmy pro její popis Durkheim používá. Diplomovou práci je rozdělená do tří hlavních kapitol, které rozvíjejí téma kultury v Durkheimově díle od obecných pojmů až ke stanovení toho, je co pro Durkheima podstatou kultury. První kapitole se zabývá sociálním prostředím jako takovým; zaměřuje se na, co Durkheim nazývá sociálními fakty, na kolektivní vědomí a na kolektivní reprezentace. Tato kapitola se také popisuje vznik nejpodstatnějšího sociálního faktu – náboženství. Druhá kapitole se věnuje tématům souvisejícím s organizací a fungováním společnosti. Zabývá se nejen symbolickými systémy, to znamená sociálními fakty, bez nichž by vznik společnosti nebyl možný, ale také je v ní podrobněji popsána morálka, normy, právo společnosti, způsoby zachování integrity společnosti a význam jedince v kolektivu. Třetí kapitole je zaměřena na samotné zodpovězení otázky, co je pro Durkheima kultura a co ji tvoří. Závěr práce je věnován nejčastějším kritikám Durkheimova pojetí, ale také jeho odkazu a vlivu současnou na sociologii.

Abstract:

The culture consists of values that members of a society declare; norms which regulate their behavior; and of artefacts which are created by members of the society. Sociology of Emile Durkheim features themes of culture in a large extend. However; the definition of the culture as such is not involved. This diploma thesis deals with the question of what is the definition the culture in Durkheim’s writings; who or what creates the culture according to Durkheim; what is its origin and how it changes; and what expressions Durkheim uses to describe it. The thesis is divided into three parts. The first chapter deals with social environment as such; it focuses on social facts, collective consciousness and collective representations. This chapter also describes the origin of the most important social fact, the origin of the religion. The second chapter is devoted to questions of social organization and functions of the society. It deals with symbolic systems – social fact that enable the social life, it also describes ethics, norms, law of the society, ways to sustentation of social integrity and the importance of individual in group. The third chapter is focused on questions of what is the culture in Durkheim’s concept. The very last part of the thesis is devoted to critics of Durkheim’s but it also focuses on his importance for contemporary sociological thinking.
