Vliv lídra ve vybraném odvětví na tržní cenu akcií konkurence

Abstract:

Klíčem k profitabilnímu investování na akciových trzích jsou informace o faktorech a událostech, které na tržní cenu akcií vybraných společností působí. V dnešním dynamicky se rozvíjejícím světě, kdy technologie hrají hlavní roli v rozvoji našeho každodenního života, by byla škoda se skrz investování do akcií technologických společností tohoto trendu nezúčastnit. Cílem této práce bylo identifikovat faktory, které nejčastěji ovlivňují tržní cenu akcií nejhodnotnějších společností v technologickém sektoru. Dále bylo cílem zjistit, zda existuje korelační nebo kauzální vztah mezi tržní cenou akcií lídra ve vybraném odvětví a tržní cenou akcií konkurence. Za tímto účelem byla provedena korelační analýza a Grangerův test kauzality na základě denních upravených uzavíracích cen akcií pěti nejhodnotnějších společností v technologickém sektoru v období od roku 2010 až 2023. Výsledky poukázaly především na geopolitickou situaci a makroekonomické faktory, které mají výrazný vliv na tržní cenu akcií vybraných společností. Výsledky korelační analýzy stanovily středně silný pozitivní vztah mezi cenou akcií lídra a tržní cenou akcií konkurence. Naproti tomu nebyly dostatečné statistické důkazy pro potvrzení Grangerova kauzálního vztahu mezi tržní cenou akcií lídra a tržní cenou akcií konkurence. Výsledky poskytují cenné informace pro tvůrce investičních portfolií zaměřujících se na technologický sektor. Limitem této práce bylo zaměření se pouze na nejhodnotnější společnosti v technologickém sektoru, a proto bych v dalších výzkumech doporučil autorům zaměřit se na širší portfolio společností v daném sektoru.

Abstract:

The key to profitable investing in the stock markets is information about the factors and events that affect the market price of the shares of selected companies. In today's dynamic world, where technology plays a major role in the development of our daily lives, it would be a shame not to participate in this trend through investing in the shares of technology companies. The aim of this paper was to identify the factors that most often influence the market price of the shares of the most valuable companies in the technology sector. Furthermore, the objective was to determine whether there is a correlation or causal relationship between the market price of the stock of the leader in the selected sector and the market price of the competitors' stock. To this end, a correlation analysis and Granger causality test was conducted based on the daily adjusted closing stock prices of the five most valuable companies in the technology sector from 2010 to 2023. The results indicated geopolitical situation and macroeconomic factors that have a significant impact on the market price of the selected companies' stock. The results of the correlation analysis established a moderately strong positive relationship between the stock price of the leader and the market price of the competitors' stock. In contrast, there was insufficient statistical evidence to confirm the Granger causal relationship between the market price of the leader's stock and the market price of the competitor's stock. The results provide valuable information for investment portfolio makers focusing on the technology sector. A limitation of this paper was its focus on only the most valuable companies in the technology sector, and I would recommend that in future research the authors focus on a broader portfolio of companies in the sector.
