Autorka se zamýšlí nad příčinami zdůrazňování (ženské) štíhlosti v současné západní společnosti. Teoreticky vychází z poznatků kulturní antropologie a sociologie těla, přičemž se kriticky vymezuje vůči interpretaci evoluční biologie. Authoress thinks of (women´s) slenderness´ emphasis causes in contemporary Western society. The work is based on knowledge of cultural anthropology and sociology of body, whereas it is specified critically against evolutionary biology.
